Badea again on the move

Former Steaua striker Valentin Badea was released by Universitatea Craiova, although he had signed in the summer a three years long contract. Badea (27) featured in 13 matches this season, but started only three of them, scoring two goals in the process. Badea looked very promising a few years ago – best season for Steaua was 2006/2007, when he scored 13 goals in the first division – but since then he has struggled to find the same form and was sent on loan to Greece and even China, arriving in Craiova as a free player, the same way he leaves now in search of a new club.

Two Slovenian players on the move

FC Timisoara announced the release of Dejan Rusic (27). The powerful striker came to Romania in 2008 and scored 9 goals in 42 appearances in the league. Seriously injured, never played this season for Timisoara and during 2009 has never featured in the team’s first eleven!
The other Slovenian player from Timisoara, Dare Vrsic (25), has been granted a move on loan back to his country, if he finds an interested club. The attacking midfielder showed some promise, but proved quite prone to injuries. In fact, in two and a half seasons collected only 22 games in the league. His contract with Timisoara runs until June 2012 and the Romanian club probably hopes to have him back to full match fitness at the end of this loan spell.
