  • After Roberto De Zerbi (30) and Felice Piccolo (26), CFR Cluj signed a third Italian player, in the very last day of the winter mercato. Davide Bottone (23) comes from Torino and will play for CFR until the end of the season. Bottone is a central midfielder, with one cap for the Italian U21, and has the chance to become the first Italian to have played in Liga I, as De Zerbi is stil out and Piccolo wasn’t even on the bench for the match against Unirea Urziceni.

The defender from Uruguay belongs to Olimpia and comes in Romania on a loan deal that can be turned into a definitive transfer next summer. Read more…

  • Only days after the signing of first Italian player that will feature in Romania’s Liga I, CFR Cluj announced the transfer of a second Italian. Felice Piccolo (26) follows Roberto De Zerbi and is expected to join the squad coached by Andrea Mandorlini next Tuesday. Piccolo, an experienced defender, comes on loan from Chievo, until the end of the season, and most likely will pair up with Portuguese centre-back and team captain Ricardo Cadu (28), at the heart of an orthodox back four.
  • Second division outfit Universitatea Cluj signed another Brasilian player. Central midfielder Reinaldo Jose Zacarias da Silva (25) comes from Kalmar FF, where he played on loan from Palmeiras.
