Ganea signs for a third division Romanian club!

Yes, Ioan Viorel Ganea, the former Stuttgart & Wolves striker, who also played for Dinamo, Rapid and Politehnica Timisoara, has decided to move up one division and sign for Sanatatea Cluj. This is the club’s first major signing ahead of the Romanian Cup game versus Steaua Bucharest, as “The Green Viruses” (Sanatatea translates into “health”) launched a similar invitation to other big names, with Cosmin Contra, the former AC Milan and Atletico Madrid right back, expected to offer an answer today, once he returns to Romania.

At 38, Ganea has decided to make an attempt to kick out Steaua from this competition on Thursday evening and will decide afterwards if he’ll keep playing for the club that has offered him a monthly wage of, sit down before you read this, less than 50 euros. With 17 goals scored for the national team and 130 for the clubs he has played for, the veteran striker would like to add another one that he’ll remember for years…
