Another interested club in Traore: Galatasaray

  • With the interest from Napoli and Arsenal already confirmed by CFR’s board, press reports suggest Galatasaray Istanbul has added the Ivorian Lacina Traore on its shortlist. Apparently, Galata’s technical staff has been alerted by one of its own players, Kader Keita, who spoke highly about the promising forward, nicknamed “the new Drogba”. The news got an almost immediate reaction from Andrea Mandorlini, who fears that the player will have trouble focusing on the job at hand, as everyone saw in the derby against Steaua.
  • Dinamo’s board took once again the wrong call, yet will continue to wonder why this is the club with the biggest discipline issues in Liga I. Caught by the paparazzi in a club, the Senegalese Ousmane N’Doye managed somehow to dribble his way through all the threats (huge fine, relegation to the reserve team, lost place in the first eleven) and is announced again in Dinamo’ first eleven for tonight’s game against Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt…
  • Giuseppe Materazzi is expected in Romania, after Unirea Alba Iulia invited the experienced Italian to watch live the away game from Iasi and form an opinion on the team and the players. His name was on Ceahlaul’s shortlist as well, who settled for Zoran Filipovic instead, and probably some agent has a list of coaches that could save Romanian teams from relegation and is sending it to all the clubs in need. Anyway, this is just a confirmation that Adrian Falub is tipped with the biggest chances to get the sack.
  • Obviously, such a list would be useful to clubs interested in the title as well, who started badly the new year, and apparently Rapid is already in talks with Walter Novellino. The Italian has been watching from the stands as the Bucharest club won 1-0 against title contenders from Timisoara, but he should know that club owner George Copos won’t have any problems replacing a coach after a solid result. The key is to ask for a small salary ;-).
