Wesley gets a wage cut instead of a raise
- Brazilian forward Wesley Da Silva Lopez loses 25% of his current wage and will be sent to FC Vaslui’s reserve team, for an undefined period of time. This is the punishment announced today by the club’s board, angry that the club’s best player of the season refused to play in the first official game of the year, against Gaz Metan Medias. Wesley (29) was upset that FC Vaslui refused to negotiate at least an offer of 2 mil. EUR from Al-Wasl and had demanded a wage rise to continue playing for Adrian Porumboiu’s club. FC Vaslui motivated its choice by saying that the offer was presented by an agent and that Al-Wasl denied interest in the player when questionned on the subject, but stated that the Brazilian is now up for sale, in case a concrete and decent offer comes along.
- Steaua finally got his man, as Gora Tall (24) arrived in Romania last night, completing the loan from APOP/Kyniras. The Senegalese central defender has big chances to gain a place in the first eleven right away, as Steaua is looking for a quick replacement for Eugen Baciu, who got the axe, after making obscene gestures towards the fans during the 3-1 loss against Ceahlaul.
- Portuguese full back Rui Duarte (29) returned to FC Brasov, one and a half months later than he was supposed to. With talks about his chances to return to the squad in a short while, there is unrest among his team-mates, especially given his atitude, as he behaved like nothing had happened and didn’t even explained or appologize in the locker. With Steaua still very interested in his services, in spite of his obvious lack of professionalism, Rui Duarte probably hopes that the board will agree to release him while they can still get a good price for him.
- Napoli‘s interest for Lacina Traore remains very high, as news reports from Italy claim, with the president De Laurentis keen to sign the Ivorian talented forward in the summer. CFR Cluj have set an asking price of 4 million euros, with Arsenal being still linked with the player that made an impressive start in 2010, scoring the winner against champions Unirea Urziceni, as a bonus to an overall excellent display.
