Cocis, between Universitatea Cluj and CFR Cluj
- After a turned down offer from the Ukraine Football Federation, Mircea Lucescu has been also offered the chance to become Russia’s national team coach. “Il Luce” has a contract with Shakthar Donetsk until June 2011, but missing the title at the end of the current season could determine the Romanian coach to take up a different challenge, after five years spent at Rinat Ahmetov’s club.
- Ousmane N’Doye (31) says he would agree to extend his current deal with Dinamo, which is due to expire at the end of the season. The Senegalese midfielder is a key player for the Red Dogs, although he’s not that easy to handle by the coach. Another midfielder that hasn’t been offered an extension yet is the experienced Gabriel Bostina (32), who scored the opener against Universitatea Craiova, on Sunday.
- CFR Cluj paid a high price for the vital victory away at Urziceni, as coach Andrea Mandorlini will have to compensate the loss of two starters: Gabriel Muresan (28) and Ciprian Deac (24). Both received the fourth yellow card in the league and face a one match suspension, which couldn’t have come at a worse moment, as CFR prepare to host Steaua Bucharest. If Deac, in spite of his contribution to CFR’s goal, could be easily replaced, Muresan has a key role in Mandorlini’s tactical setup. The anchorman that featured in every single friendly match this winter and offered a very solid display on Monday, will probably be replaced by Daniel Ricardo da Silva Soares “Dani” (28).
- CFR Cluj is thinking about the chance to sign Romanian international Razvan Cocis (27), whose transfer to Portsmouth didn’t materialize, due to Pompey’s ongoing financial trouble. The attacking midfielder is currently training with Universitatea Cluj, the second division club that promoted him from its youth ranks in 2001 and who is also hoping to touch a soft spot and convince Cocis to give them a hand until the summer, in order to achieve a probable promotion, anyway.
